Following an outstanding debut at Evaluation 2023, Story Slam is back for an encore at Evaluation 2024. Are you ready to be captivated by the power of personal stories? Join us on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. PT in Oregon Convention Center - C124 to share and hear stories from your colleagues.

This 90-minute storytelling extravaganza will take you on a journey of lessons learned through the first-person narratives of our talented storytellers. Everyone is welcome to attend the Story Slam; storytellers will be randomly selected from those who throw their name in the hat. This year’s theme is Credible Evidence. Participants will be given 5-minutes to:

• Share a story about a time new evidence changed their mind or changed their life.  
• Let the audience eavesdrop on how they assess credibility and when it's been important personally or professionally.
• Talk about context and positionality - how have they affected their work?

We’re excited to invite Anne-Louise Sterry to guide us through this storytelling experience. Anne-Louise Sterry is an internationally recognized motivational speaker and performing artist, performing for over 400,000 people across America and Europe. Infusing her background in psychology, education, and nursing, Sterry combines speaking and original music to deliver her unforgettable ‘keynote concerts’ that inspire, educate, and entertain.

You may share stories from your professional or personal experiences. What’s most important is that you show up as your authentic selves and be creative! Play guitar? Kazoo? Bass triangle? Music and creativity are highly encouraged! The best storyteller—selected by your peers— will win a prize!
